Rabbi Liz's Bio
Rabbi Liz P.G. Hirsch was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York. Originally from the Boston area, Rabbi Liz was active in her Reform congregation, spending summers at the URJ Eisner Camp here in the Berkshires, and nearly every weekend with the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). Rabbi Liz graduated from Brown University with a degree in Environmental Studies. Between college and rabbinical school, Rabbi Liz worked as a Legislative Assistant at the Religious Action Center, the Union for Reform Judaism’s office in Washington, D.C. In recognition of her academic and leadership achievements, Rabbi Liz was honored as a Wexner Graduate Fellow and Tisch Fellow during rabbinical school. While at HUC-JIR, she served several congregations and organizations throughout the New York and Boston areas. Prior to serving Temple Anshe Amunim, Rabbi Liz was the rabbi and one of the directors at Eisner Camp.
Rabbi Liz enjoys playing guitar, yoga and meditation, and hiking all over the Berkshires. Rabbi Liz is married to Rabbi Neil P.G. Hirsch, who serves as one of the rabbis at Hevreh of Southern Berkshires. They live in Lenox with their children, Lior and Mikah. Rabbi Liz is eager to meet members of the Temple community and beyond!
