Adult Education & Programming

Temple Anshe Amunim is community of learners. We offer a variety of adult learning experiences. Each year we offer a range of exciting programs. Currently we are offering and Adult Hebrew class as well as an Intro to Judaism class.

Intro to Judaism

Led by Rabbi Liz P.G. Hirsch, participants will explore a modern take on Jewish life, engage with Jewish values, and discover greater spirituality and meaningful celebrations. Open to all, this course is perfect for interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers, individuals considering conversion, and Jews who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience.

Topics include: holidays, life cycle celebrations, theology and core beliefs; Hebrew, prayers, the Bible and other sacred texts; history, anti-Semitism and the Holocaust, Zionism and Israel; the American Jewish experience, and the tapestry of Jewish people in today's world. The course reflects on the approach of Reform Judaism and is taught so that participants may raise questions and engage deeply and personally with all topics. Registration for this event is currently closed, but feel free to contact the temple office for more information about this class or other classes that we may have coming up at templeoffice@ansheamunim.org or phone 413-442-5910.
